1. Who we are

peekwise.ai ("peekwise", "we", "us") is an AI-powered competitive intelligence service for local service businesses. We help you monitor competitor reviews and receive plain-English briefings so you can make better business decisions.

2. What we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, and phone number (if provided) when you sign up.
• Business data: your business name, location, and the competitor names or URLs you add.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and session metadata for product analytics.
• Review data: publicly available review text from third-party platforms (Google, Yelp, and others we may add). We never store reviewer names, profile photos, or profile URLs.

3. How we use your data

• To provide the service: authenticate you, run nightly analysis, and deliver briefings.
• To improve the product: understand how features are used and where to invest.
• To contact you: send product updates, alerts, or support replies. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Third-party services

We use third-party services to operate peekwise.ai. These may change over time as we add platforms, switch AI providers, or update our infrastructure. Current categories include:

• Authentication: Google (Firebase Auth) for sign-in and session management.
• AI processing: one or more large-language-model providers to extract themes and generate briefings. The specific models and providers may change.
• Review scraping: automated agents that read publicly available reviews from platforms like Google and Yelp. Additional platforms may be added in the future.
• Infrastructure: cloud hosting, databases, and caching layers to store and serve your data.
• Analytics: product analytics to understand feature usage (no ad targeting).

5. Data storage and retention

• Processed review data (themes, sentiment, briefings) is stored with an automatic 6-month expiry.
• Account and business configuration data is retained while your account is active.
• On account deletion, all personal and business data is removed within 30 days.

6. Security

We use industry-standard practices: encrypted connections (HTTPS), token-based authentication, and server-side session cookies. No password is ever stored in plain text. However, no system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

7. Your rights

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion: delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Danger Zone.
• Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format.

8. Children

peekwise.ai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves, for example, when we add new platforms, change AI providers, or update data practices. We will notify you by email or in-app notice for material changes. Continued use after notice means you accept the updated policy.
